it's a short cross penny from Henry III (1216-1272)minted in Canterbury by monyer Osmund On reverse : OSMUND ON CAN
The coin was in very bad condition when found. But was cleaned till this beauty by JKXS's spitting method.

Before you all think i got caustic gobbo ... i will clear this spitting method !! - lol..... its the silver foil ( kitchen foil & spit method )if you have not tried it out , then have a go - you will be amazed at the result .... remember to open the window first though !!

well done michiel. Looking in my book I thought it was either a John or a Henry 1. Fancy finding it in Holland.

yes indeed very nice to find this in Holland. It's a henry 3 tony see ID at the top.
@ Matthijs, indeed much better as the copper doits we usually find

it's class is VIIB and was minted between 1222-1236
|
