I've had this item in a demineralised water soak for 10 months with frequent water changes. The FLO has seen it and was not interested deeming it quite modern. It measures 65mm max. diameter and 23mm wide, it weighs 98.3g and appears to be a lead alloy. It is much too heavy for a brooch and I think it maybe was once attached to a statue. I believe it has been in the river bed and therefore has picked up a lot of concrete like debris!!! I have just put it into sterident (denture cleaner) for 20 minutes and a bit more grit came out, but I am loathe to leave it in any longer. The next attempt will be with electrolysis unless anyone reckognizes it and tells me not to !!! Any ideas.
